Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is available upon student request and/or based upon referrals from caregivers and school staff. The primary model of counseling utilized at Hope Elementary is called Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC). SFBC is a goal-oriented approach where the focus is on student strengths and previous successes while also building and practicing new skills. Individual counseling in the school setting is short term in nature. School counselors do not offer long term therapy. Students in need of these services will be referred to local mental health professionals.
